BTU offers a path to holistic self-improvement, grounded in the real-world experiences and extensive coaching background of its founder, Pete March. It’s founded on the principle of being truly you – a daily commitment to becoming better than yesterday through practical strategies and self-awareness.
Pete’s journey began with a lifelong passion for athletics and coaching. Starting with youth sports in the late 1990s and expanding into personal training, his focus initially centered on physical achievement. However, coaching Special Olympians profoundly shifted his perspective, revealing the critical importance of mental resilience, self-confidence, and emotional well-being alongside physical fitness. This led him to broaden his work, supporting individuals with diverse challenges, including disabilities and behavioral disorders.
Parallel to coaching, Pete pursued entrepreneurial ventures with intense drive. Adhering to a demanding work ethic common in business, he achieved success but at the cost of personal balance. This imbalance eventually contributed to significant setbacks – a major business failure accompanied by serious financial loss.
These external challenges triggered a personal health crisis, including severe stress, a nervous breakdown, and physical ailments that conventional medicine struggled to fully address. Facing limitations in standard treatments, Pete began exploring alternative paths to recovery. He delved into meditation, structured breathwork, and other mindfulness practices, seeking a deeper understanding of well-being.
This period of intense self-exploration and recovery brought crucial insights. Pete recognized the interconnectedness of physical vitality, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual grounding. He learned firsthand the power of authenticity, gratitude, and presence in rebuilding a fulfilling life.
BTU was established to share these hard-won lessons. It integrates Pete’s decades of diverse coaching and mentoring experience with the transformative insights gained through overcoming adversity. The platform combines practical, actionable strategies with the principles of mindfulness, self-awareness and spiritual health learned from traditions as diverse as Buddhism and Native American Practices.
Pete’s approach is supported by formal training and certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), behavior therapy (as a Registered Behavior Technician), USA Track & Field coaching, yoga, meditation, and breathwork, complementing his extensive life experience.
BTU provides a framework and a supportive community for individuals seeking to navigate their own challenges, cultivate resilience, and unlock their potential. It’s a testament to the possibility of growth and the power of committing to your own well-being, every single day.
Our Mission
BTU is about individual growth, not competition with others. It’s about “being better than the person you were yesterday.” We aim to empower authentic growth through community, coaching, and resources, enabling individuals to become their best selves.
We cultivate a safe and supportive environment where continuous improvement is a shared journey. By providing access to expert guidance and fostering peer-to-peer connection, we aim to equip members with the tools and encouragement needed to live lives of purpose and fulfillment.
As a part of our ongoing mission, BTU has created the “We Play Outdoors” program. “We Play Outdoors” is a nature day camp near Colorado Springs where children experience the benefits of playing outside. The program supports kids’ overall well-being by improving physical health, reducing stress, boosting creativity, and fostering a deep appreciation for the environment. We contribute a portion of the revenue we generate here at BTU to fund scholarships for children who otherwise would be unable to attend.
Pete March is a seasoned life coach and mentor with over 20 years of experience in guiding individuals toward personal development. He combines a diverse range of expertise, including athletic coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), behavioral therapy as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), yoga, meditation, breathwork, and nature therapy. Pete’s approach is holistic, aiming to help individuals cultivate resilience, confidence, and self-awareness. He is passionate about empowering people to overcome limiting beliefs and unlock their full potential, emphasizing a balanced approach to life that encompasses physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual well-being. He is also a business owner and entrepreneur.
